MEET Multi-Instrumentalist Noel Haye ( “I can do all things through Christ who giveth me strength.” – Philippians 4:13)
Noel Haye was born and raised in the legendary Brooklyn, NY. He was a bouncing baby boy who had little to no air in his lungs, according to the doctors at Brooklyn Hospital, but God had much more in store for him. Having his first piano lesson in 4th grade is how Noel was formally introduced to music. Being present at his piano lessons taught him early self-discipline.
Noel comes from a family of musicians, so it was without question that he could have become one as well. His unique love, the saxophone, started when he heard Kenny G play, for the first time, at the age of 12, and the sound has resonated with him since. Noel made it his mission to get a seat in his junior high school’s jazz band; however, there were too many saxophone players. When he got to High School, the section was also full, so he had to settle for playing in the drumline of his school’s marching band.
By God’s grace, when Noel reached his senior year, one spot opened in the jazz band’s sax section. He took advantage of the opportunity without a second thought. Ever since, Noel has been on his own musical journey playing for various events hosted by couples, families, and organizations. Noel’s playing is influenced by the genres of Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop, R&B, and Gospel. Kirk Whalum, Gerald Albright, Kenny Garrett, and Maceo Parker are a few influential players of his. Noel continues to work in his God-given purpose each day and wants to continue blessing lives through his God-given talent.
